A man is dead after he was thrown from his car during a crash overnight.

It happened around 1 a.m. on CTH T near Venture Avenue in the Eau Claire County Town of Union.

Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Deputies say 35-year-old Shaun Neary of Eau Claire was headed south on Highway T. That's when his car didn't get around a left-turn in the road. His car went off the road and hit the approach to a driveway before going airborne.

Deputies say Neary wasn't wearing a seatbelt; he died at the scene.

Officers say speed, driver condition, and vehicle equipment may be factors that played a roll in the crash.

Shawn was a great friend and will be Missed, we have travled many miles racing our cars together, we have shared many things we both had in common, life in general. My Prayers go out to his family and Daughter. 1One thing he had taught me was that there's always a tommorow.

While this crash is a tragedy, and sorrow is felt for all, especially the little girl left behind, the blame here is not the County Highway Department. Hundreds of vehicles travel this stretch of roadway everyday, and the ones crashing are speeding, have been drinking, or have been otherwise impaired. Maybe we should install guardrails on all roadways to keep the intoxicated on the road.

I have only known Shaun for two years. Everytime I spoke with him he had a smile on his face and a gleam in his eye. I looked forward to every meeting and conversation that involved him. Sadly, I won't get to know him any better........gonna miss you Shaun.

How many more young men have to die at that intersection before the County does someting. Maybe Weau should look into how many traffic crashes have taken place there in the past few years. Its time to put some pressure on the County Hwy. department and save the next life.

Shaun leaves a 13 year old daughter behind, whom lived with him part time. His death is the worst thing her young life has seen, and she is deeply hurt. May he rest in Peace.
