Man Convicted of Killing UW-Madison Student Hangs Himself

Authorities say a Minnesota man convicted of killing a Madison man apparently committed suicide in prison while serving a life sentence.
Twenty-year-old Adam C. Peterson, of Stillwater, Minn., was a former University of Wisconsin-Madison student who pleaded guilty last month to killing Joel Marino of Madison.
Dodge County authorities say he apparently hanged himself in his cell in the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun on Saturday night. He was found by his cellmate.
The sheriff's department and the prison are investigating Peterson's death. They say they don't suspect foul play.
Peterson was accused of fatally stabbing the 31-year-old Marino in his home last January in what authorities believe was a robbery attempt.
