Dell Inc. says it is settling a class-action lawsuit that claimed the company made misleading financing and service offers to PC buyers.
Dell will pay $3.85 million to 45 states, including Wisconsin.
The lawsuit claimed Dell offered customers zero-percent financing but later applied a high interest rate without their knowledge. The lawsuit also alleged problems with Dell's warranty service and rebate programs.
Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says the state will get about $46,000 to cover its legal fees.
He says it's not known how many Wisconsin consumers may be eligible for refunds. State residents who believe they might be eligible for refunds can download a claim form from the Department of Justice Web site or call 608 266-8940.
