Deputies arrested a man for animal neglect after finding several animals dead at a farm last week.
Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith tells us the department got a tip that cows and sheep were dying on the property. It’s west of Menomonie on 650th Avenue. Smith says deputies when to Steven Shaver's farm last Monday and saw dead animals. Investigators went back later with a search warrant and found dead cows, sheep and chickens.
Deputies told Shaver to take care of the animals and when he didn't, they arrested him on Thursday. Investigators seized the rest of Shaver's animals and had to put more animals down.
