It was move in day at UW-Eau Claire and it’s no doubt students spent money buying stuff for their dorm room. But, the next four, possibly five years they'll likely tack on the debt. UW System Student Financial Service experts say the average student will graduate with about $19,000 in debt from student loans. If you add in credit card debt, then they'll leave here with more than $20,000 in debt. Money managers say cut back on the luxuries like lattes, and stick to only one credit card if you have to have one and pay it off each month, at least pay a bit more than the minimum.
