yes good old rusk county,it dont start shapeing up there wont be one in a year or two
If the schools were to consolidate Mr Friedel cannot promise his staff that they will not loose their jobs. The Teachers have the best union out there and I am sure some teachers from the other schools have alot more senority than some of the Ladysmith teachers and they will not be afraid to bump them. I don't see this as a solution to the problem. First of all tell me how long would a person be riding a school bus especially if they lived on the far north of Sawyer county and in the school district. Maybe Mr Friedel can get a hold of the President and ask for a bail out. After all the education of our children is the future.
Until Friedel and the people of the Ladysmith school board come down off their high horses this will never work. Friedel was quoted in the local paper saying that Ladysmith was willing to look at cosolidation, but not at the expense of any of Ladysmith's staff, adiministration, building's and programs. They are obviously not interested in what is best for the children of Rusk County, just what is best for Ladysmith. Just ask any resident in the Hawkins area on how the Ladysmith school board works. Closing a school in Hawkins that they sunk 1 million dollars into shortly thereafter just to be able to improve the Ladysmith Middle School does not seem like good financial sense. Leaving those of us in Rusk County paying for a million dollar building that is sitting vacant today all to help out Ladysmith.
