Cause Of Death Of UW-Stevens Point Student Remains A Mystery
|

While UW-Stevens Point leaders continue to investigate the death of a 19-year-old freshman on campus, students are reacting to the news that one of their classmates is no longer with them.
Student Cody Starr says, "The way it looked, it looked like he tripped, because he was going up to the fourth floor, so it looked like he tripped on the way up. But no one knows that, no one else was with him that we know."
Investigators say the male student was found unresponsive in Thomson Hall at the bottom of a stairwell early Saturday morning. He was then taken to Saint Michael's Hospital where he later died.
Sophomore Jonathan Rezach says he lived on the same floor as the freshman who died, and this is a big wake-up call for him, "They tell you about stuff like this happening at freshman orientation but till' it really happens, most people don't realize that it's a possibility and it can definitely happen to everybody."
Friends of the student say he graduated from Random Lake High School, which is about an hour north of Milwaukee.
