North's Anderson Swats Away Memorial Upset Bid
In high school boys basketball Friday night, Eau Claire North's 6-foot 11-inch center Evan Anderson swatted away a potential game-winning shot from Eau Claire Memorial's Ricky Caldwell in the final seconds as the Huskies held on to beat the Old Abes 33-31 at the Eagle's Nest. Elsewhere in the Big Rivers Conference, Chippewa Falls knocked off Hudson, while Rice Lake beat Menomonie.
