(WEAU) - There have been 3 heroin overdoses in 3 days, killing one person and nearly killing 2 others, and La Crosse police say a heroin problem is surfacing.
It says on Wednesday, they found a 19-year-old woman at a hotel on Rose Street who was not breathing and didn't have a pulse. It says they found evidence of heroin use in the room and used an anti-narcotic medication to revive and save the woman's life.
Police say a La Crosse person was found dead Thursday with evidence of heroin use at the scene. They are not releasing any info on that person at this time. It says the victim was transported to the Dane County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
Police also say a 46-year-old man had to be saved by an anti-narcotic medication Friday morning at a different hotel on Rose Street after they found indications of heroin use in his room.
The department says it's concerned that an extremely potent supply of heroin has made its way into the area.
They ask if you have any information on these incidents, to call the La Crosse Area Crime Stoppers at 784-TIPS or the La Crosse Police Department at (608) 785-5962.
