Prosecutors filed a criminal charge against a woman after police say she posted a profile of her ex-boyfriend on Craigslist under "Casual Encounters."
Prosecutors filed the charge of causing harm through identity theft in Eau Claire County against 20-year-old Kari Heath of Strum on Tuesday.
WEAU 13 News talked with Heath on Thursday morning. She says she didn't know what she was doing was illegal and feels badly about it. Heath says she was frustrated with the relationship and wasn't thinking when she posted his information online.
Police say the profile on the Web site suggested that the man wanted other men to call him at work and talk dirty. The man got a call at work from someone who saw the ad on Craigslist. That's when he went online, saw the profile, and called Altoona Police.
Heath is scheduled to appear in court on March 19. If convicted, she could spend three years in prison.
