Three Wisconsin National Guard helicopters and 17 soldiers from the West Bend and Madison area are answering North Dakota’s call for help.

The task force left Saturday around noon.

They are joining about 2,100 North Dakota National Guard troops as well as hundreds from other surrounding states.

Once in North Dakota, they expect to conduct search and rescue operations and provide air transportation.

They also have the ability to provide medical evacuation if needed.
