Some students got to go on an exciting ride Friday.
About 20 ROTC students from UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls got to hitch a ride on three helicopters that landed in a soccer field at UW-Stout Friday afternoon.
After a brief lesson on the chopper, the students were taken to Fort McCoy for weekend-long training.
“This is a big deal. Anytime you bring a helicopter into a place like this it draws a lot of attention, so its a good way to showcase what we do...and it shows how our students are a little bit different than the typical college students, “says UW-Stout Military Science Professor Co. Scott Bolstad.
This weekend the students will participate in team building exercises, land navigation and simulation systems.
