Glad that you have never had an CRASH. THINK ABOUT IT! That is just sad, sick and inhuman for you to be the "I KNOW it all"!Look up accident in the dictionary or maybe you wrote it MR.Webster!I feel terrible for everyone in this accident.Berry Trucking, the driver and the injured!I pray a recovery for all.The driver was in his 60s and I am sure he had plenty experience.Accidents happen in seconds.TOO bad.
I think it is amazing that people are so quick to judge this driver, and this company. It was an accident, it was not intentional. An accident is something that happens unintentionally, is unfortuneate, and without planning. Accidents happen every day. He will suffer the consequences of this accident, tickets, fines, losing driving priviledges, loss of job, etc... let the state work it out. Everyone should pray for a full recovery for the people involved in the accident. We all wish it would have never happened, but thank GOD it was not any worse than it was, and nobody lost their life. Trucking companies are required to have adequate insurance in order to stay in business and I am sure they have insurance.
It is time to stop judging people and maybe saying thank GOD everyone is alive. You at this car and it is remarkable they are alive. As a truck driver myself it is my worst nightmare thinking that this does happen. Thing is it happens with cars also. It is not anything new in the world. These incidents do happen probally more often than we think. I am sure the D.O.T. will investigate this and if any wrong doing on any ones part will be be brought to light. there will be time to judge later pray now for a healthy recovery for all. I am sure Berry Trucking remembers the last major accident they had, for the most part I am sure the community will.
if this truck driver was driving to fast on HWY 12 then it is his fauit he will get what is coming to him BUT some people judge truckers wrong some of the truck drivers are not at fauit they get cut off by cars and truck wanting to get in front of them .. so don`t judge truckers that they are bad drivers because they do alot more then you do in a car so RIDE IN A SEMI AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS you will see what happens when cars come flying by and cutting truck drivers off i been drivering truck for 17 years and i seen alot of accidents and most of them are by cars cutting truck drivers off SO PLEASE PEOPLE DRIVE SAFE and please don`t cut other people off i mean don`t cut off car trucks motorcycles and semi
This wasn't an accident it was a crash and crashes are caused by negligence! Inattentive driving, following too close, whatever! I've driven the interstate back and forth to work and some semi drivers seem to think they have to get right up on you before they pass even when no other cars are around. I've also seen some of them reading newspapers while driving down the road. Semi's don't stop on a dime! He needs to be held accountable! It's funny how there's such a double standard here! I've read many blogs before about police officers who have had "accidents" and everyone hangs him out to dry saying he should be held to a higher standard and should pay more attention and he should get the book thrown at him. But some of you want to stick up for someone who is driving a 40 ton truck and slams into 2 vehicles? Bet you wouldn't if it was your family this happened to! He should also be held to higher standards! My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims!
It's not an accident...IT'S A CRASH!!! Accidents are VERY RARE and UNAVOIDABLE, but CRASHES LIKE THIS ONE HAPPEN ALL THE TIME! Get it right...not an Accident...it's a CRASH!!
Im not saying he's not a bad driver, not paying attention IS a bad driving. I was just trying to say that truckers jobs are hard and they are over worked to make deadlines, even though they changed the laws they doctored logs before, i'm sure they do still, and many accidents are the result. some truckers are over booked and have to run hard or risk their job, because the boss is pushing. I have come across a few truckers and the ones who do not work for themselves but small fleets having the biggest problem with being run to hard. because the boss who most often sits in an office not a truck is push to make more drops and not be late to make more MONEY. so I am just on the side of the good truckers that are responsiable and follow the law. I was just using what i said as an example I'm sure there are careful truckers that have even been in an accident, U know accidents do happen. I did not mean this case was some how not his fault, I should have picked a diffrent example,
I venture to say that most of us have had near-collisions. It really isn't up to us to judge or forgive the driver of the semi. By all appearances he made a mistake while driving. Semi trucks are the "pit bulls" of the highway. People look at accidents they cause a lot more closely than they do a car accident...just as people look at pit bulls more than any other breed when involved in a biting incident. It is a sad fact that this accident will reflect poorly on and have people pointing fingers at truckers...even those that don't deserve it.
I tried to stay away from this one. As a professional Truck Driver for 11 years I can honestly say this driver was at fault. He was doing something he wasn't supposed to do. I don't know what it was, but it could have been: Driving too fast, tailgaiting, inattentive driving. Most of the accidents with a rearend collision by a Semi are caused by too fast and inattention, usually both.
i think the DOT needs to fine any company big time for pushing the truckers to get from one point to the other because the company`s want truckers to drive and NOT to have time to rest and take there time and drive safe
not all truck drivers are bad some of the companys push the drivers to the limit on there hours of drive time. AND truckers get cut off by cars and trucks that DON`T use there blinkers and TRY to get in front of trucker just because they are not going 70 to 80 on the freeway but as for what happen on hwy 12 it is sad for what happen who knows what happen maybe the car didn`t have it`s blinker on and the driver thought it wasn`t turning because i see ALOT of people that don`t USE there blinkers i`m a truck driver and i was cut off by tomah yesterday by a truck that didn`t use they blinker when i was by the off ramp and he wanted to hurry up and get on the off ramp so please stop cutting truckers off and drive safe on the roads ....
You're not saying the driver is a bad driver? Really? He almost killed two people with bad driving. I would say that is some reasonable evidence that he is not a good driver.
Accidents are called that for a reason, they are just that accidents,But truck drivers do have a hard job they are on the road for count less days(yes they do have to stop and sleep or be off the road for a certain number of hours) but I heard of drivers that complain of being run to the point of exteme exaustion to make deadlines. If this is really true I do not know it is only hear say but I am sure that it happens at one time or another. I have the highest respect for truck drivers because they do have a hard job and without them our counry is at a virtual stand still, but I also think they should be held to higher driving standards due to the fact that the vechicle they are driving is so dangerous. say he did't see the cars blinker or just glancing away for a second a small mistake is devastating with a semi where if driving a car may be just a small accident. I'm not saying the truck driver is a bad driver but he is driving a possiable deadly weapon.
No one know the circumanstances of this accident and know one should point the finger at anyone it was an accident and only the people involved know what happen and God knows,so quit pointing fingers at someone unless u know the whole story, everything u hear from other people is only hear say.
This driver is also the reason why/how other GOOD truck drivers get bad reputations! My prayers are with the families of those injured and hopefully WisDOT will start watching Berry Trucking and how they run their operation. I fully understand that accidents happen but if you are behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler you need to be 100% attentive AT ALL times! NO EXCUSES!!!
