UPDATE: Officers Release Name of Man Killed in I-94 Crash
One person is killed in a crash on I-94 near Menomonie.

The name of the man who died in a crash on Interstate 94 has been released.
State Patrol says 51-year-old Joseph l. Hansman of Menomonie was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened along I-94, just west of Menomonie.
The Menomonie Fire Department says around 5:20 p.m., a pickup truck went down a steep ravine on eastbound I-94 near Knapp. Firefighters say people passing by and a State Patrol trooper pulled the driver from the truck just before it caught fire.
That fire spread to the grass, and crews put the fires out.

On Wednesday April 8, 2009 a Fatality Crash occurred involving 1 vehicle.
On April 8, 2009, at approximately 5:16 p.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol received a report of a one vehicle crash on I-94 eastbound near milepost 32 in Dunn County, Lucas Township.
Immediately after the crash, the vehicle caught on fire. The entrapped driver was extricated; however attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. The driver was pronounced dead at the
scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was seatbelted.
The vehicle fire and small grass fire was extinguished by the Menomonie Fire Department and Spring Valley Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation at this time. Identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Agencies assisting at the scene were the Dunn County Sheriff's Department, Dunn County Highway Department, Menomonie Fire and Rescue and Spring Valley Fire and Rescue Assisting Agencies.
