Wisconsin's Lieutenant Governor was in Eau Claire today to announce new initiatives to combat rising energy costs.

Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton spoke at Menards West today announcing three new plans for businesses and residents to save money on energy. "As energy costs rise, it's important for all of us to realize that we can reduce our demands without changing and reducing our quality of life in Wisconsin."

From October 1st through November 31st, residents can receive a $2.00 rebate on energy efficient light bulbs. Homeowners can also receive a $50.00 completion bonus from October 1st through March 31st of 2007 if they get an assessment on their home where energy efficient improvements can be made. For a limited time, starting October 16th, residents can receive a $150.00 bonus for replacing their furnace with a new energy efficient model.
