Eight people will lose their jobs at a Western Wisconsin school district.
On Monday night the West Salem School Board approved about 727-thousand dollars in budget cuts for next school year.
School Board President Errol Kindschy says that includes laying off two teachers, a district social worker, and five paraprofessionals.
The board also voted to cut funding for technology and staff development, and to cut down on bus pickup for some students who live less than two miles from their schools.
Kindschy says the district still faces a deficit of 70-thousand dollars for next school year.
