(AP) -- It's springtime, but you wouldn't know it in parts of northern Wisconsin. That's where utility crews worked to restore power to thousands of electricity customers as a spring storm dumped up to seven inches of wet, heavy snow.

Wisconsin Public Service says more than 5,000 customers lost power as the snow hit the Eagle River, Three Lakes, Rhinelander and Crandon areas Monday.

The utility blamed most of the outages on trees falling on power lines because of the snow.

The crews had most everybody back in service Monday night.

But the utility was concerned that more snow continuing into Tuesday morning could mean more trouble.

Warmer temperatures should help matters. Tuesday's highs across Wisconsin are expected to range from around 40 in the east to the mid 50s in the west. And warmer weather is due Wednesday.
