A man has been charged with having child pornography on his computer.

36-year-old Luke O. Gilbert of Melrose is charged with possession of child pornography. Gilbert was arrested after a joint investigation between the State Department of Justice and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Court records show Gilbert had been downloading child porn images or the past five years. He admitted he was addicted, and disposed of two other computers at his parents granary on their farm. Investigators searched the granary and found child porn images.

He is scheduled to appear in court June 1.
