Wisconsin Fishing Season Opener Kicks Off
Wisconsin's fishing season opener kicked off Saturday with a sunny start.

Governor Doyle kicked off Wisconsin's fishing season opener on Saturday.
But while the sun was shining, the governor's spokesman says the fish just weren't biting for Doyle who fished at the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward in northern Wisconsin. Doyle caught a northern pike during his first opener in 2003 on Lake Namakagon in Cable, but he has been unsuccessful since then.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources expects this fishing season to be a popular one, with fishing license sales already up 16 percent from last year.
