Deputies released the name of the man who they say had a loaded gun when he crashed on Saturday.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says 74-year-old Arland Peterson of Holmen pulled into a driveway on State Highway 35 near Galesville on Saturday. The home owner went out to check on him, but the vehicle took off and hit a gate. It later went off the road and stopped.
Witnesses checking on Peterson found a loaded handgun on the passenger seat. They took it until deputies got there and arrested Peterson. He was taken to the hospital.
