A jury from outside Sauk County will hear the case of a Baraboo man accused of murdering his infant twins.

Sauk County Circuit Judge James Evenson decided the trial of 46-year-old David Yates does not need to be moved to another county, as the defense wanted.

But the judge agreed with the prosecutor that an outside jury should be brought to Baraboo when the trial is due to start July 20th.

Both sides cited pretrial publicity and a community petition drive calling for two life sentences for the defendant even before he goes on trial.

Yates is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Authorities allege he battered 5-week-old Tyler and Savannah Yates to death when their mother left them with him while she was at work one weekend in April of last year.
