Half of Wisconsin's registered voters say they favor an amendment that would ban gay marriage.
>
That's according to a poll released Monday by the University of Wisconsin Survey Center.
>
The center questioned 508 people from October 18th to 26th. It has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
>
The survey found that 50% of registered voters favor the amendment. Support is greater among likely voters -- 52% of them favor the amendment.
>
The amendment has more support among men and Republicans than among women and Democrats. It also has more support among older people -- more than half of those age 45 and up favor it. While less than half of those under 45 do.
