A man is dead after an accident at a business involving a front-end loader-skid steer.
53-year-old Stanley "Buck" Walleser of De Soto died on Tuesday. Vernon County Sheriff Gene Cary says it happened around 2:00 p.m. at Thompson’s Dirt Works in De Soto. Cary says Walleser was working at the time. The sheriff says a fitting was turned on a hydraulic line. The hydraulic fluid leaked. That caused an elevated bucket to fall. The bucket and arms of the machine pinned Walleser and 40-year-old Albert Thompson. Walleser died at the scene.
Thompson was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital.
