A music teacher is under investigation for possible inappropriate communication with a high school aged student.
Rusk County Chief Deputy Gary Hahn says deputies interviewed 38-year-old Michael Wright of Bruce and other people late last week. Hahn says the department is looking into how Wright communicated with the girl, and whether it was legal. Hahn wouldn't say how deputies found out about it. Wright hasn't been arrested or charged.
Bruce Superintendent Deb Brown says Wright has been on medical leave since Friday. She wouldn't elaborate. Brown says Wright has taught music to elementary through high school age students for several years.
