Police say a 14-year-old boy led an officer on a high speed chase through Rice Lake.
It happened just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Police say an officer tried to stop the Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation when the teen took off at a high rate of speed through several city blocks. The teen eventually crashed the jeep into a building and ran off on foot but the officer was able to catch him. Police say the boy stole the vehicle from a rice lake home and started it with a screwdriver.
The boy is being referred to the Barron County Department of Health and Human Services for charges.
