Deputies are trying to figure out why they say somebody accidentally shot a 14-year-old girl with a high-powered rifle.
Taylor County Sheriff Bruce Daniels says the girl had a near 5-inch grazing wound to the neck. She was treated at the hospital and released. Daniels says it happened outside near Kapitz Road, west of Rib Lake, on Sunday. Deputies say someone called in around 2:00 that afternoon saying the girl had been shot, and that someone was driving her to Rib Lake.
Daniels says the actual shooting happened minutes before the call. He says there were juveniles involved, but wouldn't elaborate.
