Local Student Appointed to UW-System Board of Regents
MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today appointed Aaron Wingad to the University of Wisconsin System’s Board of Regents. Wingad will be replacing Colleene Thomas as the student representative. His appointment is effective immediately and will expire May 1, 2011.

Governor Doyle Appoints Aaron Wingad to
University of Wisconsin Board of Regents
MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today appointed Aaron Wingad to the University of Wisconsin System’s Board of Regents. Wingad will be replacing Colleene Thomas as the student representative. His appointment is effective immediately and will expire May 1, 2011.
“Aaron has extensive experience working with both student government and faculty groups at UW- Eau Claire,” Governor Doyle said. “He has a strong understanding of the UW System and important issues that affect students at campuses around the state.”
“It is a great honor to be chosen to serve students, faculty, and staff all around the UW System on the Board of Regents,” Wingad said. “I look forward to helping guide and shape the great University of Wisconsin System through the many challenges we all face.”
Aaron Wingad is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Spanish for the health sciences.
He currently serves as Director of Academic Affairs for the UW- Eau Claire student body, and is also involved in the student senate and Pre-Med Career Exploration Program. Aaron has served on multiple committees, councils and boards during his time at UW-Eau Claire. A graduate of Rice Lake High School, Aaron hopes to attend medical school following his graduation in 2011.
