A jury convicted a man of drug charges in connection with a major marijuana growing operation.
Online court records show the jury came back with a guilty verdict against 31-year-old Mario Cuevas-Alvarez on Friday. Pierce County deputies arrested him after chasing him on foot in November of 2008. They had received a report of a marijuana operation in the woods northwest of Plum City. Deputies found more than a thousand pot plants and some processed marijuana.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 1.
