Homicide charges are filed against a driver involved in a crash that killed two people.
65-year-old Phyllis Nicholson of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware is charged with two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. According to the criminal complaint, on August 11, 2008, she was driving an SUV that crossed the median and hit a pickup truck on Interstate 94 near Black River Falls.
72-year-old Howard Fenske and 8-year-old Blake Fenske of Coloma were riding in the truck and were killed.
The criminal complaint shows Nicholson told investigators she thinks she fell asleep. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
