On Thursday, crews are scheduled to start work on a $951,000 project to improve part of U.S. Highway 12.
The nine mile stretch is between County Road M and U.S. Highway 10 near Augusta. The project involves milling and replacing two inches of the highway surface. Crews will also put a concrete overlay on the existing bridge over Bridge Creek. The road will stay open to traffic during the construction.
The job should be finished by the end of July.
