It started with a jump out of a plane thousands of feet in the air and ended with fire crews pulling soaking wet skydivers out of a lake.

But it's a rescue, these crews hope to never have to reenact.

Two skydivers from the Indianhead Sport Parachute Club landed in Lake Wissota, and needed emergency help.

Firefighters from the Chippewa Fire District raced out in boats to train on how to rescue the jumpers.

Because skydivers frequently jump from an air strip near Lake Wissota, both say this training could one day save someone's life.

"Being within a mile of the lake, there is a possibility one of our jumpers could go into the lake at some point. So, it's a good exercise, good training for us to go over our emergency procedures to make sure that we know how to respond in the case of an emergency like that", skydiving instructor Tom Stewart told us.

This is the first time the skydivers and firefighters have held this kind of drill, since the 1990's.
