A man accused of trying to abduct a 16-year-old girl reached a deal with prosecutors.
According to court records, 22-year-old Jason Alwin pleaded no contest to a charge of child enticement. Three other felony charges were dismissed. St. Croix County deputies arrested Alwin in April. Sheriff Dennis Hillstead says Alwin tried to grab a girl and drag her into the woods while she was walking along Highway C north of New Richmond. She was able to fight him off.
Alwin will remain in jail on bond while attorneys work on setting a sentencing date.
