A new survey by insurance regulators shows drivers in Wisconsin have pretty good insurance rates.

Motorists here pay the second-lowest premiums in the nation for auto insurance.

The average cost of combined coverage costs about $707 per vehicle, which includes liability, collision and comprehensive.

The survey by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners says Iowa had the lowest average annual premium at $686. New Jersey has the highest at $1,386. The national average is about $838.

The survey used figures from 2004, the latest available.
