Three U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopters took soldiers for a ride Friday in the name of training. About 30 soldiers with the 128th Infantry went on a training mission using helicopters from Madison.
Major Dan Walsh says the soldiers are fresh out of bootcamp and this is a good experience to ride in the helicopters like the ones they'll one day use overseas. The soldiers completed a reconnaissance mission near Menomonie. Walsh says the flight teaches them some valuable lessons.
Right now, many members of the 128th Infantry are deployed to Iraq.
