Chippewa Valley Business to Increase Hiring
Manpower released a survey announcing hiring rates in the Chippewa Valley.

Some employers in the Chippewa Valley are looking to hire more people in the first part of 2007.

Manpower released its Employment Outlook Survey today.

Of the employers surveyed, 27 percent of them expect to hire more people in the first quarter of next year.

Twenty percent expect to reduce their workers, and over half of the businesses will keep their same number of workers.

"What we had gotten back, what appears to be best is transportation, public utilities, education, and services are the businesses that are typically planning on doing most of the hiring in the first quarter of 2007,” says Tami Severson from Manpower in Eau Claire.

According to the survey, the Chippewa Valley has one of the highest employment increase rates in the state.
