Police arrest a man after he stole a DVD player and took off in a taxi cab.
The Menomonie Police Department says it got a call around 8:00 Friday morning about a burglary in progress in the 2700 block of Nelson Drive. The department says the woman who called knew the suspect from a previous relationship. When officers went to the man's home, he was found riding in a taxi cab. Officers say the taxi cab driver told police he just picked up the man from where the burglary happened.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Roy D. Hortman and took him to the Dunn County Jail on a probation hold. He's charged with one count of theft, one count of attempt, and one count of burglary to a dwelling. Officers say Hortman was intoxicated.
