Man ticketed after he wore a sweatshirt into a credit union
Police say he was wearing the sweatshirt with the face zipped up when he rode up on his bike but unzipped the mask as he entered the lobby. A customer saw the man and called 911.

Oh and I just had to correct your statement of the court records. 1st you fail to mention that 4 of the serious offenses u listed below were DISMISSED which incase you were not aware means found NOT GUILTY in a court of law. Secondly you failed to mention that these things happened in 2005 or EARLIER some dating back to 1995 when the kid was 20. AS far as the bad checks? yeah lol you find me anyone whos ever owned a checking account that has NEVER had bad checks especially a young person!Sorry obstructing an officer? That charge is thrown around so loosely.The cop may of just had nothing else to charge him with. You have no clue what went on at the time of those charges because you were not there you base everything off this stupid record only you only give bits and pieces of it to try and back your point pathetic. You and people like you are the reason people like this reoffend its hard to get on with your life and make new when you got people throwing your past back at you 24/7.
Dani: Wake up. How can you call this guy a "victim". You can't afford to be this naive. Check out CCAP on Eric Harding. This is what you'll find: Criminal Damage to Property - 2 counts, Issuance of Worthless Checks 5 counts. Resisting or Obstructing an Officer 3 counts! Bail jumping, Operating while suspended, Battery, Criminal Trespass to Dwelling, Disorderly Conduct, and various other evictions and paternity settlements. Sure sounds like a victim to me. The guy is human garbage and if the cops can find anything at all to charge him with then by all means they should. A low-life guy like that wearing a sweatshirt (in the summer time) with a skeleton on it, walking into a bank. There's a difference between profiling and common sense. He wasn't just "expressing himself" he knew exactly what he was doing. For your own good, if you don't get a bad feeling when a guy like that is around you then something is wrong and you ought to be careful. If he was my kid Dani, I'd be ashamed.

His mask was a sweatshirt, duh. He withdrew HIS money. Doing this illegal stuff is now a disorderly conduct and public disturbance citation. Don't forget about the getaway vehicle it was a bike. What a joke. Sounds funny doesn't it. I bet this story would make it onto the Tonight Show or Funniest Videos. No matter what his past may be he didn't deserve this. I think he was ticketed because of his past and if so this is just like bullying. I do not know this guy and from what I have read I would have no problem if he talked to my kids of stood behind me in a grocery line. Are all cops bad NO, it's just like a basket of apples, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.
Scott..Maybe I will invite him over and see if I could borrow his sweatshirt. I dont see any so called "cophaters" as you so boldly stated however I do have a problem when we can issue a person wearing a sweatshirt into a bank a disorderly conduct citation yet. I know people still out driving after 8 DUI's or the fact that I also know of people at the age of 31 who have had children with a 14 yr old and yet nothing done to him. So you know I do have a bit of a problem with our so called justice system. Im not crying for this guy and im not bashing cops. I just find it idiotic the way certain things are handled vs others. Altho im sure if it was your son or yourself scott who was basically a victim of profiling and sterotyping you wouldnt be so hasty to point fingers at all us so called cop haters!
Why on earth did he get a ticket for disorderly and disturbing the peace. Did the other person get a fine for calling 911 when nothing had happened. OH MY GOSH!!!!!
SIMPLE SOLUTION: How about all of those who think the nice gentleman pictured above was just the "victim" of a systematic and rampant police abuse of power, invite the man over to your house for dinner so you can share stories of how power hungry and corrupt cops are. Perhaps he can pick your kids up from school on the way. Be honest this is the type of guy you wouldn't even want standing behind you in grocery store check out line. So if the police, who have undoubtedly had numerous interactions with him all kinds of criminal actions issue a citation for D.C. You people need to stop your crying for this guy. How about instead the next time you see a cop just say thank you and be on your way. Most of you cop-haters wouldn't even have the stomach for law enforcement. Keep your self-righteous outrage to a minimum. Just pull the wool back over your eyes, pretend there are no bad men, and let the police handle reality.
Do any of you people criticizing the police actually know anyone in law enforcement? You people write like all the cop are power hungry, vindictive people out to get the public. You're all hypocrites. Just like cops aren't supposed to profile based on an occupation, race, gender, etc, perhaps you all should refrain from implying every cop is the same. Although for most of you if ignorance was bliss, you'd be skipping and whistling to work everyday.
Wow cuz we see bank robbers on BICYCLES everyday geez whos the reject who called 911...OH no its a man on a bike with a zipper and he knows how to use it. This is rediculous and how exactly is a sweatshirt a mask? I guess the cops better prepare for winter months because there will be all sorts of bank robbers on the loose!
Ellen, I am sure you are right. He was very likely not charged with an actual criminal offense (the state statute you cited) but rather the county ordinance (a ticket). Also, I think that it is a great idea for WEAU to publish the police report. I have a suspicion that you will see that the defendant here is not a victim at all. I am guessing that Travis is a criminal given his response.
This guy needs to sue the LX police department and make sure officer who ticketed him loses his job. I think we all need to go out and get one of these sweatshirts and wear it around town - I think I saw them at ShopKo a month or two ago.
Yes I did read the story. It says he unzipped as he entered the lobby. Which means he was wearing a mask as he entered the bank. Other news agencies have reported this more accurately. That was the point of my comment.
Ok so I don't get this. Where was there public disturbance when he took it off, and when he left after getting money, wouldn't people realize he wasn't going to steal?
this story is the perfect example of why I keep a recorder in my pocket at all times - would be interesting to hear the exchange between the suspect and law enforcement !
