A new report shows Governor Jim Doyle’s travel records are not as accurate as they should be. The report shows the governor and his staff didn't properly account for 145 travel expenses over two years.
It says in 2007 and 2008, Doyle and his staff supplied travel receipts as required under the state travel policy about 25% of the time.
Doyle’s travel included a $5,200 business-class flight to Ireland and a $654 per night stay in a London hotel. Doyle’s chief of staff says the governor's office acted appropriately in all cases and that travel expenses are logged as necessary.
