There's a new government program starting later this month that aims to get gas guzzlers off the road, and get you into a more fuel efficient car.
President Obama signed the new program into law, and starting around July 23, you may be able to get a government rebate of $3,500 to $4,500.
To get the rebate, you must be going for a new vehicle or a lease for five years.
It also needs to get 22 miles to the gallon or more.
Mike Keil, Bothun Automotive Group's General Manager, says, "the car has to be registered to that customer for a year and insured for a year so you can't run out and buy a clunker and expect to trade it in right away."
The program runs through November 1 or when the money runs out.
Here are the requirements: Your car needs to be made before 2001, be less 25 years old, and in driveable condition. I has to get 18 miles to the gallon or less.
