It might be easier for crooks to figure out your social security number than once thought. A new study shows an easy way for identity thieves to predict people's social security number.
It turns out by using certain public data, identities could be stolen within at least 1,000 guesses.
Researchers discovered the code before hackers did. Now, the social security administration is assuring people that there's no exact method to guess a person's social security number.
It says it will change the way the numbers are selected next year.
