Some workers, students and medical patients in La Crosse will not be able to light up a cigarette near certain buildings, thanks to a new set of rules going into effect Monday.

"No Smoking" rules will begin on all Western Technical College campuses and in Franciscan Skemp hospitals and clinics, as well as several Gunderson Lutheran sites.
>
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and both city and county leaders are also considering smoke-free facilities.
