This was a busy weekend for charities, including the Goodwill in Madison.
People drop off donations by December 31st so they can claim the deduction when they file their 2006 taxes.
On Saturday, there were dozens of cars lined up outside a goodwill donation station on Madison's west side.
Charity organization officials said the last four days of December are among the busiest of the year.
Managers advise donors who want an itemized list of donations to write everything down themselves. Then Goodwill officials will verify the list and provide a tax receipt.
