In the upcoming legislative session, lawmakers will debate on universal health care coverage in Wisconsin.

Some Wisconsin lawmakers want to follow in the footsteps of Vermont, Massachusetts and other states to provide universal heath care coverage.

The issue may be debated in the upcoming legislative session.

Two plans have gotten the most attention. One would require companies and employees to pay a percentage of wages into a statewide purchasing pool. Workers would be able to choose from three levels of insurance coverage.

The other would require employers to pay a fee for each worker for one state health plan. Employees would be responsible for low co-payments.
