A funeral service is scheduled Wednesday for a marine from the Loyal area who was killed during combat operations in Iraq on the day after Christmas.

Corporal Joshua Schmitz was a graduate of Loyal High School and the school gym will be the site for a visitation Wednesday afternoon and funeral later at seven p.m.
>
Schmitz played on the high school football team and played the drums.
