Deputies arrest two teens in connection with crime spree
The Vernon County Sheriff says 19-year-old Matthew A. Clark, and 17-year-old Zachary Mikkelson, both of Viola, were arrested on Friday.

Deputies arrested two teenagers in connection with a crime spree.

The Vernon County Sheriff says 19-year-old Matthew A. Clark, and 17-year-old Zachary Mikkelson, both of Viola, were arrested on Friday. The sheriff says La Crosse County deputies stopped them for a gas station drive-off. He also says the men were in a stolen vehicle, and that they may have been involved in trying to steal three other cars in La Farge on Wednesday night.

Officers executed a search warrant, and now believe they were also involved in several burglaries and attempted burglaries around Viola and La Farge late last week. They’re also suspected of being involved in what investigators call arson in the Remington Hills Park area of Holmen. The fire destroyed a park pavilion there early Friday morning.

Neither Clark nor Mikkelson has been charged in connection with the crimes.
