Officers are hoping they can track down a thief who stole metal wire from the railroad.
The railroad says there have been two thefts this month, worth four thousand dollars.
Union Pacific Railroad says in all the thief took nearly six thousand feet of copper wire and power line wire.
The railroad says the theft is dangerous because they are often live wires.
If the power is cut, the rail signals start flashing to alert drivers and the train conductors.
Last week, Menomonie police say they tracked a suspect with a bloodhound, but lost the suspect's trail at a restaurant.
If you have information, call Menomonie police.
