Jobs saved at E.C. Regional Arts Center because of federal stimulus money

The governor's office says the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center will receive $15,000 in federal stimulus money.

The money is for arts organizations to preserve jobs. Executive Director Ben Richgruber says the arts center was 1 of 97 organizations to apply for the funding. He says two jobs would have been cut if it weren't for the funding, and another one would have been reduced. More than $318,000 will go to a total of 18 Wisconsin arts organizations.

Governor Jim Doyle says the money will help alleviate funding shortfalls during the economic downturn.
