A fire destroyed a barn North of Augusta on Wednesday.
It happened around 11 a.m. off Cty. Rd G on Karow Rd. Augusta Fire Chief Ken Zich says the owner of the barn was blowing straw into a hay mow and a spark or hot piece of material got into it and started on fire.
All the livestock inside the barn were saved, but the chief says there is about$ 50,000-60,000 in damages. He says Wednesday’s heat made the job more difficult for the firefighters.
