It's been popular in Hollywood for years, but now America’s number one cosmetic surgery is making its way into small towns across the country.
>
Botox is famous for making people look younger and there's a town in our area where more and more people want a Botox boost.
>
A handful of people checked out a Botox demonstration Wednesday night.
>
It's quick and according to the woman who went under the needle, it's painless.
And it's easier to get these days. You might be surprised where the demo took place.
>
But if you don't like needles, this story and this procedure, is not for you.
>
3700 hundred people live in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Eight months ago, Botox came to town.
>
"In the last month we've seen 25-30 people," says Dr. Rich Rogie of The Krohn Clinic.
>
That includes Lonnie Simplot.
>
"They're going to do a little work on my eyes."
>
Simplot got the wrinkles filled in her forehead in November. Now, she's back for more and is showing other curious home-town girls what they're missing.
>
"I never thought we'd get anything like this in small Black River Falls," says Nancy Oldham.
>
Her friend, Mary Jo Radcliffe agrees.
>
"I have a couple spots maybe, I'd be interested in Botox,” Radcliffe says. “I'm amazed that a small town like Black River Falls would offer a service like that."
>
Dr. Rogie says since they started smoothing, there's been a lot of interest in the community and soon the party could really start.
>
"We've actually had several people talking about doing a Botox party. We're still able to do it in a very safe way."
>
But before you RSVP to any Botox bash, Dr. Rogie says do some research.
>
"Find out who's doing it, how long they've been doing it, how they've been trained."
>
Simplot says she's definitely up for more ‘bo.’
>
"People would tell me I look good or well rested…" And like the Hollywood crowd so many admire.
>
"Everyone likes to look like the stars and starlets. Now, it's finally hit the Midwest," says Dr. Rogie.
>
Now, prices do vary for Botox, Dr. Rogie says you can expect to pay between $200 and $300 per session. Each treatment lasts about three months.
>
Rogie says you might see some side affects.
>
According to the FDA, the most common ones include droopy eyelids, flu-like symptoms, headaches, upset stomach and muscle weakness.
