Chippewa Falls Woman Named a Business 'Trailblazer'

A Chippewa Falls business owner was recently labeled a “pioneer” among women.

Last month, Governor Jim Doyle announced the winners of Trailblazer Women's Business award.

Joyce Pugh of Country Treasures was one of the recipients.

She received the Quarter Century Award for owning and operating her own business for over 25 years.

The award honors Pugh as a pioneer, able to be a successful woman business owner for this long.

"I'm a risk taker, and I'm somewhat driven. That's probably what made it all happen,” says Pugh.

Pugh has owned Country Treasures for 28 years.

She says she does not consider herself a pioneer, but is proud of starting a successful business at a time when it was challenging for women to run their own business.
